Amazon Expands Alexa Plus Availability, Invites Hundreds of Thousands of Customers to Try It Out
Amazon has responded to recent reports questioning the availability of its Alexa Plus AI by stating that ‘it’s simply wrong to say that Alexa+ isn’t available to customers—that assertion is false.’ The company claims that hundreds of thousands of customers already have access to Alexa Plus and that they are constantly inviting more customers who have requested Early Access.
Alexa Plus is Amazon’s upgraded version of its popular Alexa AI, offering advanced features and capabilities. While initial reports suggested a lack of real-world users, recent developments indicate that Amazon has been actively reaching out to customers to try out Alexa Plus. Engadget reported that a wave of emails had been sent out inviting Amazon Alexa users to test the assistant, with an Amazon spokesperson confirming that ‘hundreds of thousands’ of customers have already tried it.
Amazon began rolling out its early access program for Alexa Plus at the end of March, initially missing some features like the ability to order takeout or identify family members. However, the company has been working to add these features, with some still ‘coming soon.’ Amazon has also stated that it is prioritizing customers who own certain Echo Show devices for early access.
Overall, Amazon is actively expanding the availability of Alexa Plus and inviting more customers to experience its enhanced AI capabilities. With hundreds of thousands already trying out the assistant, it seems that Alexa Plus is gaining traction among users. As Amazon continues to improve and add new features to Alexa Plus, it will be interesting to see how it evolves and competes in the growing AI assistant market.
