Maple Leafs’ Stolarz doubtful for Game 3 in Florida, Coach Says
As the Toronto Maple Leafs‘ second-round series moves to Florida, goaltender Anthony Stolarz is unlikely to travel with the team to Fort Lauderdale, according to head coach Craig Berube. Stolarz sustained an injury in Game 1 after a hit to the head by Sam Bennett. He exited the game in the second period after appearing to vomit on the bench during a stoppage in play. Joseph Woll took over in Game 1 and started Game 2, leading the Maple Leafs to a 4-3 victory by making 25 saves on 28 shots. Veteran Matt Murray served as the backup. Toronto currently holds a 2-0 series lead. Game 3 is scheduled for Friday at 7 p.m. ET / 4 p.m. PT with live coverage on Sportsnet and Sportsnet+. Stolarz’s absence could have a significant impact on the team’s goaltending situation as they look to maintain their lead in the series against the Florida Panthers.
